Thank you for visiting my website . What I have shown you is a very small sample of pieces of art that took me many years experimenting, learning and with endless trials and errors. I have been an artist and loved fabric and design from a very early age. I started by designing and creating my own doll and paper doll clothes. Being creative and producing designs have been the main focus of my life.
Born in Syracuse, New York, I have lived many places in and out of the country. I have had the opportunity to travel extensively around the world and feel that this may have been the greatest influence in my adult life. Experiencing what other cultures offer, is very enlightening and always opens up new artistic paths for me.
Exploring my Irish roots, led me to a long love affair with Celtic art and history. For many years I have offered a wide variety of intricate Celtic knot work on numerous products from printed yard goods to table and bed linens as well as garments.
I owned a large screen printing business in New York, selling both wholesale and retail and have been featured in trade publications and newspaper articles.
With a love for sharing my knowledge, I started teaching in my studio offering painting, screen printing and dyeing of fabrics and garments. This opened up a variety of teaching opportunities and ultimately led me to teach at Syracuse University in The School of Design and did so for 9 years. The required course for Surface Pattern Design students was planning and executing repeat designs on fabrics using screen printing. This teaching experience expanded my own need for more personal expression and elaborate techniques on fabrics.
I feel the ongoing creative life has been a true gift and always look forward to where it will take me. “Sometimes right back where you started from is right where you belong” so I have found myself again in Syracuse where my teaching and creating art cloth are flourishing . Here I will stay.........please feel free to look me up , visit my studio and see all the fun things you too can learn. Make sure to look at my workshops listed.
